Upper Blepharoplasty Las Vegas (a.k.a. an “upper eyelid lift”) is one of our most popular treatments…and Dr. Lanfranchi’s favorite! The goal of an upper blepharoplasty is to remove most of the excess thin skin (a.k.a. “hooding”) found over both upper eyelids. This tissue is the sagging, thin skin that covers the tops of the lids and worsens with age. This loose skin makes one look tired and depressed in appearance.
Many women complain with frustration that their makeup application is hindered by this excess skin. Even a few patients will claim that their vision is bothered at times if the condition is severe enough. What is the end result of this amazingly simple yet delicate procedure? What is a TLC Upper Blepharoplasty?
A tiny hair-line incision is placed in the natural crease of both upper eyes. First, the excess thin skin is meticulously removed. If present, any prominent bulging fat pads are then removed to enhance the contour of the inner aspect of each eyelid. For some patients with significant hooding, an upper eyelid lift procedure can actually improve their peripheral vision (by removing the skin that was blocking their side view).
An upper eyelid lift is a very natural procedure that does not change the shape of the eye. It will not affect the brow position, so there is certainly no risk of developing a “surprised” unnatural appearance. Removing the weight of this skin creates less pressure on the eyelids, so many patients report feeling less tired at the end of the day. Women state that makeup application is much easier, faster, and more effective. This allows them to make their eyes look even more beautiful!
